Cancer Kids

Cancer Kids are fighting for life, yet they've never gotten the chance to share their voice with the world. In finding these earth angels, I found people willing and able to assist kids to do just that!

I found that these kids have an insight that is so great I could not, not share them with you. Some may bring you to tears, yet others bring laughter. And even others give the courage to keep moving and growing. These cancer kids are so brave it just amazes me, with the many stories that touch my heart.

I have one of my own that happened many years ago. I use to teach 3 year olds Sunday school and every year I would fall in love with them. One year I met a gorgeous little girl named Carly. She was sweet, loving and always interested in others feels.

All this at age three!

She would greet me every Sunday with the biggest hug and kiss I ever received. This went on for two years. Her parents loved it as Carly forced them to come to church, as she just loved hugging me and enjoying church.

At five years old Carly was diagnosed with Cancer. She came to church with two missions the first was to tell me she had cancer and the second she whispered in my ear...

"I am OK, but I am worried about my little sister!"

I found myself fighting back the tears. Here she had a life threatening illness and all she cared about was that I was to take care of her sister. Now Carly's sister was scared and hid from me, until Carly picked her up which was a sight. Carly was only about 4 inches taller then her sister, and was bald from her therapy.

Carly handed her sister to me and told her, "Roger is like grandpa!" Carly wouldn't let go of her sister until she could tell that we had bounded.

She had many more close calls. so As one of the cancer kids Carly went to Childrens hospital, where they took great care of her. We lost touch over the years, yet I heard she had such an open heart for others that she over came her fight and is still living in Minnesota.

In Loving Memory
